The 2020 Valtuille Cepas Centenarias, a wine from only one plot since 2018, showed extremely well in 2020, the finest in the vintage together with the La Vitoriana, almost as good as the amazing 2021. The Matalospardos zone of the village is where the soils mix sand and clay, and a corner of the plot delivered some 2,000 kilograms out of the 6,000 kilograms of grapes from the whole vineyard, which has a lot of white grapes and results in very good finesse in the wine. It matured in 225- and 500-liter oak barrels for 12 months. 3,800 bottles and 36 magnums were filled in January 2022.
Naso pulito e nitido, di buona complessità; sorso equilibrato ed espressivo. Certamente un buon vino, ma a mio parere non all'altezza del punteggio esorbitante attribuito da Parker e del conseguente prezzo.

Una añada para guardar.
Una añada que se podrá guardar perfectamente durante varios años.
Muy buen equilibrio entre estructura, acidez y textura en boca.

Añada 2018
Paso por boca delicioso, de cuerpo medio, en donde los taninos hacen un asomo de ser muy potentes de inicio, pero dura un instante tan solo, enseguida apreciamos como el tacto se torna sedosito y amable, incluso un pelín graso. En retronasal hay aromas de rosas rojas y algún balsámico. En cuanto al post-gusto nos enamora, qué gran mencía!, fruta por doquier, con la madera juguetona y con un toque licoroso a duelas envinadas que le proporciona gran frescura. De fondo esos tostaditos elegantísimos y finalmente más fruta, sin duda la protagonista durante toda la valoración.

Un peu déçu
I expected more from a wine rated Parker 97+, but it is worth it's price. The wine never really opened, not even the next day. If there is any major potential, I personally did not find it.
