Mengoba Las Botas

There is one more non-DO white, the 2016 Mengoba Las Botas, which is the Mengoba white that, after 12 months in the oak foudre, matured in Sherry butt (bota) for around ten months. The unusual thing is that the barrels contained some 100 liters of the 2015 wine, so in reality, it's a mini-solera. The élevage in bota completely changed the aromatic profile of the wine and gave it nutty undertones, hints of spices and a tasty twist in the palate. It's very different, a white of strong personality with the fresh character of the base wine. 1,000 bottles were filled in August 2018.
