The 2020 Los Arroyuelos comes from different dry-farmed and head-pruned old vineyards on sandy granite soils in the villages of Villanueva de Ávila, Burgohondo and Navatalgordo. All the vineyards are fermented separately with a small percentage of full clusters and matured in oak barrels of different sizes (225 and 500 liters) and blended after seven months. This is very fruit-driven, young, juicy and fluid, reflecting a vintage that has rounder and riper tannins, a gentle year that is apt for the style they produced in this first vintage, which includes a short time in oak that would not be possible in a more tannic year. It's aromatic, primary, with notes of wild berries, flowers and herbs, like a rainy spring day in the countryside. It's very showy and quite different, fun and easy, representing quite well what Garnacha can be. It's round and juicy, with fine-grained tannins and a supple, dry and somewhat salty finish. 2,600 bottles were filled in March 2021.
