Stunning barrel fermented Chardonnay complex and quaffable...
I have always been a big fan of French and Californian 100% Chardonnay's and their variations in display of barrel and oak in the finished wine.
Departing from my normal habits this year I have been exploring Spanish oaked chardonnay and this is undoubtedly one of my favourites.
It is complex yet fresh with lots of mineral notes and white pepper on the nose. The 2016 vintage still exudes lot's of fruity flavour, apples and quince dominate however the time in oak is now starting to develop and add soft woody notes with the white pepper lingering on the long finish. Drink now in my opinion and bag some 2017 vintage.......I already have!
